HR: The Benefits of Employee Wellness Plans
There’s a lot of talk these days about employee wellness programs! It’s no secret that these programs can lead to happier, healthier employees. What many
may not realize, though, are the benefits that companies reap from implementing a wellness program. In other words, companies that invest in their workforce are investing in themselves.
In addition to increased employee productivity, businesses that invest in employee wellness programs experience fewer sick days used by employees, increased employee retention rates, competitive advantages in recruiting and the potential to reduce health insurance costs.
In a recent survey of over 2,200 employers:
- For those employers who have already implemented a wellness program, 72% report that they have been successful in improving the overall health of employees.
- 55% of respondents expect a reduction in overall health care costs due to their wellness program.
In addition to the benefits listed above- one of the biggest rewards of implementing a wellness program is that it demonstrates to employees that you care about their well being, as well as the well being of the company.
